Our team is highly experienced in delivering compassionate and effective dental care for children
At The Yorkshire Grey Dental Surgery, we offer a refined approach to family dentistry—supporting patients from pregnancy, through childhood, and into adult life with care that evolves at every stage.
We understand that oral health begins long before a child’s first tooth. From supporting expectant mothers with tailored advice, to guiding children through their early dental experiences, our focus is on creating confidence, comfort, and lifelong healthy habits from the very beginning.
Our children’s dental care is delivered in a calm, thoughtfully designed environment, where every detail is considered. Routine examinations and hygiene visits are carried out with a gentle, unhurried approach, while more advanced treatments are available when needed. For anxious children, we offer inhalation sedation (gas and air) in-house—making us one of the few private family dental practices in Essex able to provide this level of support seamlessly.
As a leading Coggeshall family dentist, prevention and education are central to everything we do. We work closely with parents to provide clear, personalised guidance on oral hygiene, diet, and development—ensuring each child benefits from a bespoke care plan that adapts as they grow.
Just as importantly, we prioritise how our patients feel. From a child’s first visit through to their teenage and adult years, we create a welcoming, reassuring environment where appointments feel calm, supportive, and positive.
The result is a truly comprehensive family dental service—one that nurtures confident smiles from the earliest stages of life and supports them for years to come.

What to do if your child has toothache.
Comfort your child: Toothaches can be very painful and distressing, so it's important to provide comfort and reassurance to your child.
Apply a cold compress: Place a cold compress on the outside of your cheek near the painful tooth. This can help to reduce swelling and numb the area.
Give over-the-counter pain medication: Paracetamol or ibuprofen can help to relieve pain and reduce inflammation. Be sure to follow the recommended dosage for your child's age and weight.
Schedule an appointment with a dentist: Toothaches can be a sign of a serious dental problem, so it's important to have your child seen by a dentist as soon as possible. Call your dentist and explain the situation to schedule an appointment. We can be contacted via our contact page here, on info@yorkshiregreydental.co.uk or on 01376561748
Monitor your child's symptoms: Keep an eye on your child's toothache and any other symptoms they may be experiencing, such as fever or swollen gums. If the pain or other symptoms get worse or if there is any swelling affecting breathing or swallowing, seek medical attention immediately.
Remember, it's important to take toothaches seriously and seek prompt dental care to prevent any further complications.
